About me

Hi, my name's Niki, and I am a single mum of a wonderful Boy who is Blind and has physical and mental disabilities. I want to share my story so that any new Mums out there who may be in a similar position can know that yes, It's a scary thing to be told your child will be dependent on you for the rest of their life, but it doesn't mean you have to miss out on having a unique and fun life.

I've always been a bit of a wild child, kind of a rebel and never followed any rules except my own. I used to love partying and having a good time, and never let that stop me from being the best parent to my son. I'm happy with all the choices I've made even though I haven't always made good choices; nonetheless, it has brought me to where I am today, and I'm thankful for that. I love the people I've met along the way. They have taught me so much about myself. I've lived, and I've learned a hell of a lot. I am now truly happy with my life. I wake up every day knowing I am who I am, and that is my best possible version of myself.

I don't think I could live my life, which makes my Jimmy smile each day without my family, friends and our support workers. The support they give me with Jimmy is amazing. THANK YOU to every one of YOU. If you haven't had the chance to meet Jimmy, you are truly missing out, he will change the way you look at life, and you won't see it, but you will most definitely feel it. I am very lucky to have raised this beautiful boy I call my son.
